Railway The board on Friday said 2.5 lakh public complaints were resolved in the month-long cleanliness drive. 1,065 references from MPs were settled and revenue of Rs 452 crore was raised by disposal of scrap. The Railway Board said in a statement that the Railway Ministry has successfully completed the cleanliness initiative ‘Special Campaign 4.0’ launched on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The recently concluded campaign was designed to promote a culture of cleanliness, improve organizational efficiency and engage employees and the public across Indian Railways in meaningful ways.

Earned Rs 452 crore by selling junk

The Railway Board said a total of 56,168 cleanliness programs were conducted across Indian Railways, which focused on workplace hygiene and cleanliness of railway stations. During this period, 12.15 lakh square feet of space was freed up by disposal of junk and revenue of Rs 452.40 crore was generated.

Special Rail Chaupal was organized

During the campaign, Railways resolved 1,065 references from Members of Parliament, addressed 138 State Government references, cleared 65 out of 69 PMO references, resolved 2.5 lakh public grievances and 1,427 public grievance appeals. The Board said that organizing Rail Chaupal helped in community engagement. Special Rail Chaupals were organized at major railway stations like New Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Nagpur, Kota, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata.
