These countries including India can benefit from Donald Trump’s policies, know what Moody’s said in the report
America Leading rating agency Moody’s said on Friday that after Donald Trump becomes the President of America, trade and investment flows from China may go away. Moody’s believes that India can benefit from Trump becoming President. Along with this, ASEAN countries can also benefit from Trump’s policies. Moody’s Ratings said in a statement that after Trump is elected the next President on November 5, major changes are expected in America’s current policies.
Trump may pursue aggressive immigration policy
Moody’s said the Trump administration is expected to have larger fiscal deficits, protectionist trade measures, a standoff on climate measures, a tough stance on immigration and relaxed regulations. According to the rating agency, Trump may pursue a more aggressive immigration policy if he becomes president for the second time. However, this strictness may lead to labor shortage in sectors like agriculture, retail, hospitality, manufacturing and healthcare.
Trade and investment flows may move away from China
Regarding Trump’s foreign policy, Moody’s said trade and investment flows in the Asia-Pacific region could shift away from China as the US tightens investment in strategic sectors. The rating agency said, “India and ASEAN countries can benefit from this change in US policy.” “Continued polarization between the US and China also threatens to increase geopolitical divisions in the region, which could disrupt the global supply of semiconductors.”
