Earlier, former President of Republican Party George W Bush had won here. For the first time since then, this state and its six ‘electoral votes’ have returned to the Republican Party. Earlier in 2004, Bush had won from this state. Trump and Democratic Party presidential candidate Kamala Harris campaigned in the state several times this year. Most of Nevada’s counties are rural and voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2020. But Democrat Joe Biden won Waukesha and Clark, the two most populous counties at that time. Trump’s number of electoral votes crosses 300
With the victory in Nevada, Trump’s total number of electoral votes has increased to 301. Till now he had secured 295 electoral votes. Whereas to become the President of America, only 270 electoral votes are required. Kamala Harris has only 226 electoral votes so far. Nevada is the 7th most extensive and 34th most populous state in the United States. According to the data of 2023, the current population here is around 32 lakhs. (AP)
